Back to School Amazon Essentials

It’s back to school season, and I don’t know about you, but I have slightly forgotten how to function. It always takes me a couple of weeks to get fully back in the groove after spending my summer traveling and enjoying life.

As I get back into my routine, here are the five things that are making my life easier.

One of my least favorite questions from students is “how much time do we have left?” Whether I’m giving them 5 minutes for a warm-up, or we are counting the minutes until lunch, the Time Timer has saved me from answering that question a million times over.

Small rant: Can we talk about how middle schoolers don’t know how to read a clock? Everything is so digital for them, which is great, and I love it, but my goodness – they cannot read a regular clock! Ok, rant over!

I hang this timer up next to my board so that all the students can see it. I love that it doesn’t tick, and students can’t sit and stare at the seconds clicking by. It has a beeping sound for when it is complete, but that function can be turned off on the back. This product is seriously one of my favorite things in the whole world for my classroom, and every teacher should have one.

Jackie holding a stylus

I went without a stylus for YEARS, and let me tell you – it has been a GAME CHANGER. If you have a touchscreen in your classroom, you NEED a stylus. It makes everything so much easier. I recommend getting the four pack, because if you’re anything like me, you’ll lose at least three of them!

Picture of Kristina with Water Bottle

I don’t know about you, but I accidentally dehydrate myself every – single – day. I’ve lucked out this year and my classroom is directly across from the staff bathroom, so this water bottle is holding me accountable. For $15, I can keep on track to drink 64 ounces per day. I always feel so much better when I’m drinking water, so this has got to be in my top five favorite classroom items.

Jackie holding flair pens

Ok, so these aren’t necessarily a NEED, but isn’t grading and planning so much more fun when it’s pretty? And the linked pens above are SCENTED! Pretty colors AND pretty smells? Sign me up! I love to color code my plans, and using flair pens makes it so much easier for me to see what’s upcoming.

Kristina holding an ice roller.

This one isn’t exactly a classroom favorite, but something I use every day before heading into my classroom. When a friend told me about the ice roller, I thought she was crazy! Who wants to put ice on their face first thing in the morning? That sounds absolutely terrible! Boy, was I wrong. I am OBSESSED. The shock at first is a lot, but it feels soooooooo good. And say goodbye to any puffiness! I feel more awake, alert, and ready to start my day. I like to fill after I get out of the shower. It takes less than thirty seconds and I’m out the door.

I could go on and on about my favorite items, but these are definitely my top for back to school season. What are some of your favorite items?

XOXO
Jackie and Kristina
